Haunted Little Tokyo Brings Spooktacular Nights to the Heart of LA

Every year my friends and I go down to Little Tokyo in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles to their New Year’s Day Festival, where we get to try Japanese food, watch Taiko drum and folk music performances and other cultural displays; however, this year, we have another reason to go - Haunted Little Tokyo.

The inaugural Haunted Little Tokyo, put on by Go Little Tokyo, runs on select nights October 1 – 31, 2017. Ghosts and Goblins of all ages are invited to experience Little Tokyo this October as the neighborhood is transformed with pumpkin patches, by Tanaka Farms at the Japanese Village Plaza and the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center.

The Kids can dress-up in their favorite costumes for ghoulish games, trick-or-treating, and FREE family-friendly movie screenings including Studio Ghibli's "Kiki's Delivery Service" and "My Neighbor Totoro.”

For those with a looking for a little ghostly excitement, there’s the Little Tokyo haunted walking tours where they tell the legendary Little Tokyo ghost tales and share the city’s history, or test your fears watching classic Japanese horror flicks including the 2002 supernatural film “Ju-on: The Grudge.”

Plus, there’s a block party on October 28th with a costume parade, a bar crawl, live entertainment, special food and drink discounts, and more.

Tickets are free depending on the activity, so if something spooks your interest and you are in the LA area in October, visit: www.hauntedlittletokyo.com for a full calendar of events
