Halloween Wars: Season Six debuts On Food Network In October

I have to admit, I love watching The Food Network around Halloween. The celebrity chefs have specials where they make creepy concoctions that will delight a spooky party; for me, it’s like the Christmas cartoons from when I was a kid: it signals the holiday is near. But, I digress.

Halloween Wars is a cooking completion that has several teams battle it out to create spooky food art in a set amount of time and the team that doesn’t cut it is eliminated. And the Winning team walks away with $50,000. Each team is composed of a Cake artist, a sugar artist, and a pumpkin carving artist. Each episode has a guest judge who is horror alum.

I also have had personal experiences working on the show. I was an assistant editor working on seasons 3 and 4, and I have to admit I liked working on that show. But, something you may not know, is that the season is filmed almost a year ahead of time! That’s right. Have you ever gone out to buy a pumpkin and having it cost you $5 -6? Imagine buying hundreds of them to make up the pumpkin patch that the contestants pick from (especially those bigger pumpkins that can be $100 or more)! So they film after Halloween when the pumpkin prices drop. so when it was November and December and we would be working on the next Halloween Wars. So there you go, a little inside knowledge from the world or reality cooking shows: you’re welcome.

However, in case you are wondering when you can catch Halloween Wars below is a listing from Food Network.
