New On Shudder: October 2017

For horror fans, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. It’s the time when everyone else catches up and starts playing up the macabre aesthetic that we rep all year ‘round. In October, we’re all weirdos and we all wear black.

The month of October brings forth some stellar additions to Shudder, including these exclusives:

10/5: Seoul Station - Director Yeon Sang-ho’s animated prequel to his zombie sleeper hit Train to Busan tells the story of how it all began. As several groups of people are struggling to survive a zombie pandemic that’s unleashed In Seoul, one man desperately searches for his runaway daughter as the government struggles to shut down the area around the outbreak.

10/12: Can’t Take It Back - When two high school girls decide it would be funny to post hateful comments on the Facebook page of a classmate who committed suicide, they soon learn what it means to take a joke too far. Can’t Take It Back mixes classic urban legend with new school social media anxiety.

10/26: Found Footage 3D - A group of filmmakers sets out to make the first 3D found footage horror movie, but find themselves IN a found footage horror movie when the evil entity from their film escapes into their behind-the-scenes footage. Found Footage 3D is an incredibly fun horror film about the making of a fictional 3D found footage horror film. Energized and ever-commenting on the genre, the film is swift, surprising and clever, without undercutting its intent to also be scary.

10/26: Spookers - A profile of the family-owned Spookers, New Zealand’s largest and most successful scare park the Southern Hemisphere. Director Florian Habicht deftly captures what’s thrilling and enticing about haunted houses, for the attendee, but more importantly, the owners and employees.]
