Spend a Night In Dracula's Castle
When it comes to creatures of the night, none inspire more fear than the vampire and the one that dominates them all is Dracula. Just hearing the name conjures up images of a suave man in in an opera cape that has hypnotic eyes, pale skin and a hairline that’s accentuated with a widow’s peak - ready to lure his victims into an embrace so that his razor-like fangs can cut through the flesh drawing the blood for his feast. This is the stuff of nightmares, inspired by the folklore of people in small communities surrounded by wilderness and death. How much of the story of Dracula is real, how much is fiction and would you be willing to spend the night in his castle to find out?
AirBnB is holding a contest to send two guests to Bran Castle, long been called castle Dracula, to have dinner with Dacre Stoker, the great –grand Nephew of Bram Stoker and sleep in a velvet lined coffin just like the literal count. All you have to do is enter here. Winners will be announced on October 26th.
You will arrive in a horse drawn carriage, receive the same greeting that Jonathan Harker heard from Dracula (given by Dacre Stoker himself) and be treated to the same meal Harker had.
This the first time guests have stayed the night since 1948 and should be a real treat for the winner and guests.
The story of Dracula is complicated. There’s the fictional vampire, the historical figure and the man who combined the two, to some degree or another to create the monster that we know today.
