A Coloring Book That's Both Beautiful And Horrific

The first time I saw a rack of adult coloring books, I thought it was a joke. Who would want to color, when it would be more interesting to learn to paint or draw, or any vast number of hobbies. I was then informed of how cathartic they can be and according to the American Art Therapy Association (which I did not know existed until researching this article) the coloring books can be used to "explore feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety and increase self-esteem." So, I have since changed my opinion of them and I say, color away!

However, what do adult coloring books and my recent change of heart have to do with a horror website? Well in case you missed the headline, there’s a new horror themed adult coloring book coming out and it’s GOREgeous.

Created by Alan Robert, this musician, and artist has taken his love of the creepy and penned his own adult coloring book called The Beauty of Horror: A GOREgeous Coloring Book. Filled with his original artwork, the coloring book is being published by IDW Comics.

So maybe, if you are into the coloring book hobby or you just want a book of original artwork worthy of framing, check out this new book coming out October 4th; just in time for Halloween and those spooky coloring parties…if you'reinto that sort of thing.
